Historic Name: Refugio Cordero Adobe
Constructed: c. 1855 and 1969
A wood covered adobe with gabled shingled roof and wood frame additions. Shed overhang with posts over the veranda. Left section of building has shiplap siding; other portions are board and batten. Sashed double-hung and casement windows. Projecting wing on right has flat overhand roof and stone chimney. Another recessed wing on right has sightly lower flat roof and double glass doors. A studio apartment was added in 1943. A garage and storage room was added in 1946, and a dressing room, kitchen, and utility room was added in 1950.

This adobe represents a typical type of residence associated with Santa Barbra's history in the early 19th century. There are reports that the building was constructed by either Refugio or Jose Cordero, though this is not confirmed.
Significant as a City Landmark as per City Council findings (Resolution No. 83-046) by the following criteria:
A. Its character, interest or value as a significant part of the heritage of the City, the State or the Nation. Because the adobe represents architecture from the Spanish Colonial period, the adobe is important to the heritage of the City.
D. Its exemplification of a particular architectural style (Spanish Colonial) or way of life important to the City, the State, or the Nation;
